Having been announced last August while a first image from the series was revealed last October, we now have the first footage from Cobra Kai, a reboot series based on The Karate Kid movie series of the 80s.
Taking place thirty years after the original film, it sees the return of original stars Ralph Macchio, as Daniel LaRusso, and William Zabka as bully and rival fighter Johnny Lawrence.
Now, after the characters have opened competing karate schools, they’ll face off again as the Cobra Kai karate dojo reopens.
The series will be shown on Youtube Red and consists of ten half hour long episodes.
Josh Heald (Hot Tub Time Machine) wrote the story for Cobra Kai with Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg (Harold & Kumar). The latter two will also be directing much of the series, which debuts later this year.
