The debate on Budget 2017 took place last night on Prime Time, and while some politicians may be happy to beat around the bush, one audience member was not.

This year's budget saw a €5 increase to the weekly pension as well as a €5 reduction in the maximum fee that over-70s pay for medicine. While this is all 'a step in the right direction' as Sean Moynihan, CEO of ALONE said, more needs to be done, and Ellen Reddan from Ballymun didn't hold back on pointing that out.

"If you haven't got dementia, or Alzheimer's, or your bits aren't falling off - you just don't exist," she said.

"There's no reduction on my [prescription] tablets. You know... I just have the sh*t that goes with being 77."

Legend.
