If you've been watching the new season of Community, you'll note - aside from the massive upswing in quality thanks to Dan Harmon's return - is the familiar sight of John Oliver. Not only that, the English comedian was filling in for Jon Stewart on The Daily Show while himself was away filming Rosewater. Jon Stewart's film has been described as a tense political thriller about a journalist who's been detained and tortured in Iran for more than 100 days. Definitely nothing at all like Today Show.
After Stewart returned from his hiatus, Oliver left and has now signed with HBO for his new show, Last Week Tonight With John Oliver. The show looks to be following the same line as Daily Show and The Colbert Show, but since it's HBO, we're guessing it's gonna be that bit more edgy. We hope.
