The countdown is on to this Friday's Late Late Toy Show, which as we all know by now, is officially the start of Christmas. In preparation for the big night, RTE aired a new series yesterday evening called The Late Late Toy Show Unwrapped which is a three-part documentary looking at the history of the Toy Show going back to its early incarnation in the 1970s.

The show featured archive footage and interviews with celebs but the standout moment had to be the clip of Brendan O'Carroll's kids, one of which would go on to become Buster in Mrs Brown's Boys.

The two boys were due to demonstrate rollerblades by jumping over a ramp but at the last minute Brendan's young son Eric was overcome with stage fright.

Brendan tells viewers: “As a kid, he didn’t like uniforms, he didn’t like clowns, anyone who dressed up, he was just very cautious of them. They did the dress rehearsal and everything was great. They did great stuff on boot skates and Gay was really pleased. Then that night, the show came and as they skated out... the audience were dressed as elves. Danny had a ball, Eric was absolutely terrified. To this day, he is 23 now, he remembers every minute of it”.

The poor little crater does look petrified but dammit he's cute as a button.
