There's a new home for all of the latest premium content from home and abroad hitting our screens next month.

entertainment.ie were treated to a morning with Virgin Media More at Stella Cinema in Rathmines today, giving us our first taste of what to expect from the new-look channel.

Set to launch on Channel 100 on Tuesday, April 12, Virgin Media More will be a platform-exclusive channel that will be the home of first-look premium content for Virgin Media subscribers. It will offer viewers the very best of ground-breaking Irish and International drama, as well as documentaries and sport.

The event was hosted by 'Ireland AM' co-host Muireann O'Connell, who led the charge as three brand new TV series were teased to us on the big screen.

The big title that will kick off proceedings on launch night will be the highly anticipated series 'Holding', based on the best-selling Graham Norton novel of the name name. The four-part crime/comedy was filmed in Cork and shows off an all-star Irish cast including Conleth Hill from 'Game of Thrones', Siobhán McSweeney from 'Derry Girls', Charlene McKenna from 'Peaky Blinders', Brenda Fricker from 'My Left Foot', Clinton Liberty from 'Normal People' and Pauline McLynn from 'Father Ted'.

Hill will play the character of Seargent PJ Collins, an over-eater when he gets anxious, who must try to solve a mystery in the fictitious town. The series is a collaboration between Virgin Media Television and ITV Studios, in association with Screen Ireland.

The two other TV series that we had an early preview look at were two thrillers set to debut in the coming weeks. 'Trigger Point', starring Vicky McClure from 'Line of Duty' fame, had us on the edge of our seats, as she plays a member of a bomb disposal unit in London. This tense drama follows bomb disposal operative Lana Washington, alongside colleague Joel Nutkins (Adrian Lester from 'Riviera') as they confront an imminent terrorist threat in the city.

Dublin-based series 'Redemption' was also given a preview (also starring Siobhán McSweeney), which follows Liverpool Detective Colette Cunningham (Paula Malcomson from 'Ray Donovan') who stays in the Irish capital to uncover the truth about the death of her estranged daughter.

Premium live sport including all the action from the Europa League knock-out stages and brand-new 'Sports Stories' with Graeme Souness and Mick McCarthy will also debut on Virgin Media More very soon.
