Anton Savage, sorry to be lecturing you at this hour of the morning, but please let this be a warning to you. Between hosting Ireland AM from 7am (until 10am at the minute as Mark Cagney's having a rest), your Savage Sunday show on Today FM, your Motoring segment on Matt Cooper's The Last Word, and your myriad of other sidelines, you appear to have the constitution of an ox juggling a candle burning furiously at both ends. Not long ago, you were on Ireland AM from 7am - 8am, then I turned the radio on, and there you were, covering Ray D'arcy's show from 9am - 12pm. While your work ethic is admirable, I do worry about you a bit.

As for Vincent, a little part of him probably died when he realised he was in Ballymount near midnight trying to pronounce Kim and Kanye's moniker. According to The Independent, the presenter was admitted to St Vincent's Private "over the weekend and will not return to his week-night programme Tonight with Vincent Browne until the autumn."

A source speaking with the paper said: "Everyone was flat out with all the elections coverage and his situation stemmed from there. He decided to power through it and not take a few days off sick, so it got worse and now he's been forced to take a proper break in a hospital bed because he's so worn out and completely drained."

When questioned of Vincent's impromptu departure, a TV3 spokesperson said: "He is on medical leave and is taking his summer break. He will be back on September 8th."

Other TV3 presenters who have been hospitalised over the course of their careers include Ireland AM's Sinead Desmond, who suffered a brain haemorrhage back in 2008, and Mark Cagney, who had a heart scare back in November. That's 4:30am starts for you.

At the time a source said: "Mark had turned up for work at 5.30am - his normal starting time - and didn’t report any problems. However, shortly before 8am, and before he was due on air, he told his Ireland AM colleagues he felt unwell and was experiencing chest pains." A TV3 spokesperson added: "Mark’s feeling well and a lot better now but you have to be proactive in cases like this as he did mention chest pains. We imagine that he’ll be taking a bit of time off now to fully recover. But we’ll be looking forward to seeing him back on TV as soon as possible."

Tom McGuirk is currently sitting in Vincent's seat from 11pm every weeknight until the Autumn.
