With the departure of Angus T Jones from his full time slot, a spot opened up on Two And Half Men, and the producers decided to fill it with Charlie's long lost daughter. We weren't sure who'd they'd cast as Mr Sheen's offspring, but now it's official: Amber Tamblyn is their new err, half.. woman?

You might recognise Tamblyn from TV shows like House, or a rather old school series by the name of Joan Of Arcadia. She also starred in The Sisterhood of The Travelling Pants alongside America Ferrera, Blake Lively and Alexis Bledel, and had roles in both 127 Hours and The Ring too, Oh, and she's married to Arrested Development's David Cross, don'cha know?

Tamblyn's character, Jenny, is set to appear in five episodes thus far, beginning with the show's season 11 premiere. Moving from New York to LA to further her acting career, Jenny will finally come hunting for her father, only to discover that Walden Schmidt (Ashton Kutcher) now lives in his house. We're sure he'll have a fun time explaining that one...

"She's somewhat of a chip off the old block", creator Chuck Lorre said. "She's having a good time and doesn't care about the destruction left behind her. Decadence from the other side felt long overdue." Word on the street is that she'll be given the option to become a series regular.

Speaking of long lost family members, the New Girl execs are on the hunt for Jess' sister, but TV Guide says Emily Deschanel isn't likely to be available to join Zooey on screen. "I'm excited to cast the sister - I think it'll be really fun," series creator Liz Meriwether told the website. "[But] I have a feeling that Emily has a pretty busy schedule with Bones." Pity.
