With TV shows like Game of Thrones, Vikings and many more showing men in full beards, riding across fields with swords and unwashed faces, you'd be hard-pressed not to find a beard amongst many of then. Of course, there's been far better beards on TV since then. And wouldn't you know it, we tracked down and rated them. Here it is.

10. JEREMY PAXMAN in 'Newsnight'

Staunch, dependable and even. That was Jeremy Paxman's beard. It may be gone, but it'll never be forgotten.

9. AL BORLAND in 'Home Improvement'

If you think about it, Al Borland was actually a hipster. He had a beard, he worked in media but claimed he was outdoorsy and he constantly wore check shirts.

8. CHUCK NORRIS in 'Walker, Texas Ranger'

Of course Chuck Norris has a beard. His beard went to the Virgin Islands. When he returned, they were just the Islands.

7. BOSCO 'BAD ATTITUDE' BARACUS in 'The A-Team'

QUIT YOU JIBBA-JABBA. YOU AIN'T HURT. YOU PATHETIC. ARRRRGHH.

6. BOB ROSS from 'The Joy of Painting'

Seriously, this man had the calmest voice on the face of the Earth. Not only that, he painted pictures of nature and stuff. It was amazing. Just watch. So... Calm. Ahh.

5. RAGNAR LODBROK in 'Vikings'

He might have been played a former Calvin Klein model, but Ragnar's beard was meant to cross the seas and terrorise monks with its blood-curdling beardiness. We'd follow that beard into battle.

4. TOBY ZIEGLER from 'The West Wing'

Coupled with a balding head and those dead eyes, Toby Ziegler roamed the halls of the White House, dispensing nuggets of sarcasm and blistering putdowns. Why can't all government spindoctors be him?

3. WALTER WHITE in 'Breaking Bad'

He may have been a criminal mastermind, but he could also rock a solid beard.

2. COMMANDER RIKER in 'Star Trek: The Next Generation'

We should all aspire to have a beard such as this.

1. SER SANDOR 'THE HOUND' CLEGANE in 'Game of Thrones'

F*ck the Kingsguard. F*ck the city. F*ck the king.
