Gerry Anderson, creator of iconic children's TV series Thunderbirds, passed away yesterday at the age of 83. Anderson, who was also behind puppet based shows Captain Scarlet and Stingray, is said to have died peacefully in his sleep, his son Jamie taking to his blog yesterday to share the news. Anderson suffered from mixed dementia having been diagnosed with the condition two years ago, before being moved to a care home in October. He is survived by four children and his wife Mary.
