So aside from that guilty pleasure live action remake a few years back (We're looking at you Ben Kingsley) it's been an age since we've seen those Thunderbirds really kickin it on screen. Well, the good news is it won't be long until those Tracey boys are back in action.

Yup, much to our delight ITV and CITV have only gone and ordered 26 half-hour episodes of a new revamped Thunderbirds series for 2015. Thunderbirds are Go! will update the 60s classics using, wait for it, a combination of CGI (DO NOT WANT) and live-action model sets. Ben 10's Rob Hoegee will head up the writing team.

The series will be produced by ITV Studios and New Zealand-based Pukeko Pictures while The Weta Workshop will also have a hand in the project. It's a pity that Gerry Anderson, the man behind the 1965 original, passed away late last year. Saying that, we're not too sure how he'd feel about the CGI either.... the charm was in those strings after all.

Thunderbirds are Go! will hit screens in 2015, marking 50 years of Thunderbirds on the telly! All together now! 5, 4, 3, 2, 1...
