Following the release of the new season trailer earlier this week, the comedy/drama finally has a confirmed UK and Ireland release date for this July.

Aisling Bea and Sharon Horgan will return as sisters Áine and Shona in 'This Way Up' season two. The critically-acclaimed Channel 4 series has been confirmed to return to our screens on Wednesday, July 14 at 10pm, which will make for the perfect after-viewing session following 'Love Island over on Virgin Media One.

The broadcaster made the announcement earlier today, along with another look at the forthcoming season.

Season two will consist of six more episodes of the BAFTA Award-winning series, following the lives of two Irish sisters living in London. While Áine juggles her job as an English teacher and her romance with Richard (Tobias Menzies), Shona is having second thoughts about her fiancé Vish (Aasif Mandvi).

Star Aisling Bea, who also created the series, has been teasing the return of the sitcom over on Twitter, and seems very happy to finally be able to share the air date of 'This Way Up' on Channel 4 today, as well as the new poster for the series.

'This Way Up' will premiere on HULU in the States next week on Friday, July 9, followed by the UK and Ireland on Wednesday, July 14. Catch the first six episodes via the All4 app.
