Remember Fred the Weather Man? He used to be on This Morning with Richard and Judy in the late 80s early 90s. They had him out on the Liverpool Docks jumping from Wales, over to Northern Ireland and then over to Scotland on two inflatable islands - which was particularly tricky when they included all the mountains, landmark buildings and even the Giants' Causeway. He also had him sporting really questionable meteorological themed knitwear which would sink him like the Hindenburg should an errant gust of wind whoosh him into the drink?

Well, he's the latest in the (alleged) string of paedophiles off the telly. He didn't use his fame as such to lure in young boys; he was (allegedly) at it long before he became a celebrity weather man.

The Sun reports: "Cops probing child sex abuse claims at a boys' grammar school have raided the home of TV weatherman Fred Talbot. Talbot, best known for jumping around on a floating weather map for ITV's This Morning, taught at the school in the '70s."

Police had to knock down his door as Fred is currently sailing across the Atlantic. For realz. So, the 63-year-old former biology teacher will now be questioned upon his return. Assuming that happens.

The article continues: "Before he moved into TV in 1984, single Talbot taught biology at Altrincham Grammar School for Boys, where police are investigating alleged sexual abuse of pupils by staff in the early 1970s. Gtr Manchester Police said: 'The offences under investigation didn’t occur within school grounds but allegedly involved a member of staff.' Yesterday a man and a woman at Talbot's house in Bowdon, Gtr Manchester - where the front door was damaged - said he wasn't back until New Year... The woman, who did not want to be named, said: 'He was away with work then extended it into a holiday (funny that). We've just come to pick up Christmas presents. He knows police searched his home but says he doesn’t know why'."

Meanwhile, his agent said he could not get hold of him, saying: "I'd like to thank The Sun for bringing this to my attention."

Talbot still works for ITV Granada.
