The Walking Dead is now on par with Mad Men as AMC's longest-running series.

Beginning in 2010, the series is now six seasons in and according to its producers, there's no sign of it finishing up any time soon. In a recent interview, AMC chief Charlie Collier discussed the show's longevity.

"I will tell you we are not actively talking about the end of The Walking Dead. We’re talking about how to keep this No. 1 show on television feeling as fresh as it does in season six.

"As a brand, we’re very sensitive to making sure that every aspect of it feels fresh and original, and that it’s not treated in any way that’s derivative or taken for granted. Our planning is current and future-focused, and it is not focused on the end at this time."

While the show's had a rotating cast of characters, there's always been stalwarts like Andrew Lincoln who've stuck with the show through its good seasons and bad ones. Now that Season 6 is drawing to a close, the show looks to be returning to form.

The Good Wife's Jeffrey Dean Morgan is slated to appear as Negan, a tyrant based in Washington, DC who leads a group known as the Saviors. According to the comic books, Negan's group invades other survivor communities and takes their resources in exchange for protection against Walkers.

The final three episodes will kick off on February 14th, but as to who makes it out alive at the end of the season is anybody's guess.

What do you think? Has the show run out of steam or could it honestly continue on indefinitely? Let us know in the comments!
