The Tommy Tiernan Show continues to be one of RTE's most-loved original concept chat shows.

As you'll know by now, The Tommy Tiernan Show sees special guests joining the comedian for an interview - and every time Tiernan has no clue who is going to walk out on stage. It's been the cause of some truly golden, and delightfully awkward, TV moments over the past three seasons.

And last night's show was no different. Host Tommy Tiernan was joined by stand-up comic Eddie Izzard and Irish boxer Kellie Harrington. Harrington, who won gold in 2018's Women's World Boxing Championships, was also last year crowned The Irish Times Sport Ireland Sportswoman of the Year. Last night, she spoke about her work in a psychiatric hospital, and said that "Everyone is suffering, in some way."

Harrington received a lot of praise on social media for her appearance on the show, and thanked everyone for their support.

Also joining Tiernan last night was comedian and political activist Eddie Izzard, who wore high heels, a skirt, and a pop of pink lipstick. Before the interview got underway, and the pair chatted about living life to it's fullest and talking of Brexit, Tiernan commented on Izzard being a huge influence for his stand-up routines. Izzard then went on to speak about trying to be the best people we can be, and getting rid of negativity.

The full episode can be viewed on the RTE Player (here), which also featured appearances from Irish author Eddie Lenihan, music from Wallis Bird, and of course a comedy sketch in the form of The Gusset Brothers.
