The Simpsons' writers are once again going to bring back another character from the dead for the new series of the show.

As was previously reported, Frank Grimes is going to make a return for the show's 600th episode and now we've learned that another classic character will be making an appearance this season.

Rabbi Hyman Krustofski, Krusty the Clown's learned father, will be heading back to Springfield. Krusty's dad was voiced by legendary American comedian Jackie Mason. He first made an appearance in season 3's 'Like Father, Like Clown' and went on to make a further four appearances on the show.

Season 26's 'Clown in the Dumps' saw the death of the character.

However Krustofski senior will return in seasonal episode of the show that's set to air in December.

"Krusty is nearly going to die, so his mind flashes to the hackiest thing it can think of which is a Frozen parody, and then he sees his dad and his dad talks to him in this hallucination," said executive producer of the show Al Jean.

"It's the last thing Krusty sees before he's about to die."

The episode's storyline sees Krusty convert to Christianity in a bid to win back the love of his daughter Sophie, who has converted.
