Despite fresh rumours that 'The Simpsons' is ending, the showrunner of the longest-running animated sitcom in history has now claimed they're fake news.

The rumours began when Danny Elfman, the composer of the show's main theme, gave an interview with JOE.ie, wherein he claimed that the series was due to end soon. Elfman said that he didn't "know for a fact", but "heard that it will be in its last year."

Al Jean, who has served as showrunner on 'The Simpsons' for many years, debunked the story by saying that he's "thankful the following article is NOT TRUE."

Of course, anyone who's watched the past ten seasons of the show will tell you that it's long gone past the point of no return, and that the show should have had its ending long ago and be mercifully put down to save its legacy.

Still, they'll keep churning out episodes of it and why not? It'll keep going until people stop watching it, and then, they'll crank out another movie and put the whole thing to rest once and for all.
