"Timmy from the Fairly Odd Parents live-action looks like he's gonna try to sell me his used vape behind the school gym."
Timmy Turner is back! But he's, ah, not actually going to be the main character this time around. While he's off to college or something of that ilk (it looks like it, with that get-up), he's leaving his trusty Fairy Godparents Cosmo and Wanda behind for his cousin to take full advantage of. 'The Fairly OddParents' live-action production, which released a trailer this week, has been getting slated by fans of the original series online.
The original Nickelodeon animation ran for 10 seasons between 2001 and 2007 and followed a 10-year-old Timmy as he gets into lots of mayhem thanks to wishes made to his Fairy Godparents. Proving to be quite popular with viewers during its run, a rather ill-fated movie starring Drake Bell as a 23-year-old Timmy, entitled 'A Fairly Odd Movie: Grow Up, Timmy Turner!', proved to be a disappointing affair by all accounts.
This new Nick show, officially titled 'The Fairly OddParents: Fairly Odder', sees the original voice cast of Daran Norris and Susanne Blakeslee return as Cosmo and Wanda. The trailer, which you can see below, has been getting a very mixed reaction from Twitter users.
Here's what they've been saying.
Yikes. Only time will tell how well the series performs on the streaming service once it launches on March 31 in the US.
Sky and NOW in Europe currently have a deal with Paramount+ whereby a lot of their new content will be available to subscribers at a future date. It's not yet known when 'The Fairly OddParents: Fairly Odder' will be available here.
Since its launch in 2021, the service created the 'iCarly' sequel series and the newest season of 'Star Trek: Discovery'. The highly-anticipated 'Halo' TV series also launches on the platform this March.
Here's the trailer for 'The Fairly OddParents' live-action series. Watch at your peril.
