For almost two decades Saturday night TV was synonymous with the UK show Blind Date, hosted by Cilla Black, and now we are getting our own version with comedian Al Porter taking on hosting duties.

Today, the much-anticipated air date has been revealed, and it will now be our Sunday nights that are dominated with match-making proceedings, with the first episode set to air on October 8th at 9pm on TV3.

In case you have forgotten how things go, it sees three singletons trying to impress a potential suitor from behind a screen. They'll need to answer just three questions (the more innuendo the better) before one of them is picked to go on a date that could be anywhere from Portlaoise to Portugal. They then come back the following week and say how they got on. Stepping into the shoes of 'Our Graham' is the wonderful Tara Flynn, who we had a chance to catch up with recently about her role on the show.

We were also lucky enough to head along to the filming of Blind Date during the summer and we can assure you, this show is great craic. Al Porter is a natural as host and the audience and contestants really get into it. Trust us, this will be the show everyone is talking about on Monday mornings for the foreseeable.
