Here's a heartwarming post off the back of yesterday's list of Emmy nominations being released.

The Emmy nominations of 2022 have been revealed, and there's a lot to celebrate for comedy fans. 'Succession' came out on top with the most nominations, stacking up 25; while both Apple TV+'s 'Ted Lasso' and HBO's 'The White Lotus' each received 20 nods. There were also 16 nominations for HBO's teen drama 'Euphoria'. Sydney Sweeney, who stars in both of the last two series mentioned, called her mom as soon as she found out she had been recognized for her acting chops - and it makes for some wholesome viewing.

Take a look at the moment in question, which Sydney captioned to her 13.6 million followers: "What a morning!" [...]  It’s an honour to know that both Olivia and Cassie have connected with so many. I’m so proud of both these shows and grateful to everybody that’s been apart of them. But most importantly mom, I love you, we did it through the ups and downs!"

Sydney is well-known for her role as love-sick teen Cassie in 'Euphoria', while her starring role in 'The White Lotus' as Olivia could possibly be less widely known; this marks her very first Emmy nominations, which just so happens to be a double-whammy for the 24-year-old. And we have never been happier for her.

A number of stars and celebrities have been congratulating Sydney on her wholesome mom post, including 'Riverdale' star Lili Reinhart, actor and dancer Max Ehrich, journalist and podcast host Evan Ross Katz, and her fellow 'Euphoria' co-star Colman Domingo, who plays Rue's AA friend, Ali.

Sydney's 'Euphoria' nomination is in the category of Outstanding Supporting Actress In A Drama Series. She'll be up against seven other stars, including Julia Garner for 'Ozark', Patricia Arquette for Apple TV+'s 'Severance', Rhea Seehorn for 'Better Call Saul', Christina Ricci for 'Yellowjackets', 'Squid Game' star Jung Ho-yeon, and both J. Smith-Cameron and Sarah Snook from 'Succession'.

The Outstanding Supporting Actress In A Limited Or Anthology Series Or Movie category for 'The White Lotus' includes four of her co-stars - Jennifer Coolidge, Connie Britton, Alexandra Daddario and Natasha Rothwell. The remaining two nominees starred in 'Dopesick' - Kaitlyn Dever and Mare Winningham.

The Emmy Awards 2022 will take place on September 13. No host has been attached to the ceremony just yet, but both Chris Rock and Dwayne Johnson were approached and declined the opportunity.
