For those that spent their childhood watching all the goings-on of the Tanner household, you will know the earth shattering significance of this news. It's been nearly 20 years since the finale of the sitcom, which ran from 1987 to 1995, and starred Bob Saget, John Stamos, Dave Coulier, and of course the Olsen twins, who both played the cutest TV child that ever existed, Michelle Tanner.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, creator Jeff Franklin is writing a new version of the show, and will be joined by original executive producer Bob Boyett. In terms of the cast, Candace Cameron Bure (D.J.), Jodie Sweetin (Stephanie) and Andrea Barber (Kimmy) are all on board, while Bob Saget (Danny) and Dave Coulier (Joey) are also involved "in some capacity.”

There has been no word on whether the Olsen twins will return, but as they have retired from acting, it's not looking likely. Although, they do only need one of them so...

Either way, we can't even tell you how excited we are about this, slightly worried they'll ruin our perfect memories of the series, but more so with the excitement.

Have a listen to the opening credits below, it's like the soundtrack to your childhood!
