'Spongebob Squarepants' character Patrick Star is getting his very own series. It's not the only spinoff the Nickelodeon hit animated series has on the way either.

Following in the footsteps of 'Kamp Koral', which tracks the adventures of a 10-year-old SpongeBob at a summer sleepaway camp, 'The Patrick Star Show' is in the pipeline.

Bill Fagerbakke will continue to voice the character in the spinoff.

Deadline reports that 'The Patrick Star Show' is in the vein of 'The Larry Sanders Show' and 'Comedy Bang! Bang!'

It follows Patrick and his family, as the pink starfish hosts a late night talk show.

No word yet on whether other characters from 'Spongebob Squarepants' will appear in the series.

The likelihood is the show will feature brand new characters with 'Spongebob' cast members only making cameo appearances.

The hit Nickelodeon series that started it all premiered in 1999 and is the network’s longest-running animated series.

It has inspired three movies.

The most recent, 'The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run', is skipping cinemas and heading to on demand platforms including Netflix.
