'Family Guy' has been running for twenty years at this stage so it shouldn't come as a surprise that a whole bunch of celebs and guest stars have appeared on the show.

'Family Guy' will soon finish airing its seventeenth season on Fox in the US and at that stage, it will have broadcast 329 episodes. Guest stars on the shows over the past two decades have spanned musicians, actors and others from all over.

Here are some infamous appearances you might have forgotten about:

Ryan Reynolds

Ryan Reynolds appeared as himself in the season 10 episode 'Stewie Goes for a Drive'. This would've been a few years before Reynolds launched to major stardom with 'Deadpool'. In the episode, Peter Griffin becomes suspicious that the actor is attracted to him.

Ricky Gervais

Best-known for 'The Office', Gervais has come into popularity again with the Netflix series 'After Life'.  Like Reynolds, he appeared in season 10 of 'Family Guy'. His character is a dolphin who outstays his welcome at the Griffin household.

Bryan Cranston

'Breaking Bad' star Bryan Cranston has appeared not once but twice on 'Family Guy'. The first time was in a 'Malcolm in the Middle' joke. The second appearance was in a live-action sequence referring to how he gets awards for everything (which he kinda does).

Anna Kendrick

Season 10 was a biggie for guest stars as Anna Kendrick also featured. In the season finale, she plays Nora, a cop who Joe Swanson ends up embarking on a secret affair with.

Cate Blanchett

Stewie finds a kindred spirit in Penelope, a fellow infant bent on world destruction, who is voiced by Cate Blanchett.

Robert Downey Jr.

You may have forgotten that Tony Stark himself appeared on 'Family Guy.' Robert Downey Jr. played Patrick Pewterschmidt, Lois' brother, in season four episode 'The Fat Guy Strangler'.

Tom Hiddleston & Sean Bean

Tom Hiddleston and Sean Bean both cameo'd in the episode 'No Country Club for Old Men'. In one of 'Family Guy's cutaway gags, Bean plays the portrait of Peter Griffin's ancestor while Hiddleston plays the statue of Peter Griffin's ancestor. Watch below if you've no idea what we're on about.

Will Ferrell

A much earlier cameo appearance came in season three of 'Family Guy', around the time when Will Ferrell starred in 'Zoolander'. He played the Black Knight, who Peter idolises, in the animation.

Johnny Depp

Johnny Depp reprised his role as Edward Scissorhands for this 'Family Guy' gag.

Justin Bieber

Yup, a really young Justin Bieber made for another guest star on 'Family Guy' playing himself. In the episode, Peter beats up the musician after catching him in a compromising position with his wife Lois.

Ariana Grande

You could've easily missed this appearance from Ariana Grande, who plays the one-line character of Italian daughter on season 12 episode 'Mom's the Word.'

Carrie Fisher

Carrie Fisher was quite a regular, starring in eleven episodes of 'Family Guy' before she passed away in 2016. She played Angela on the show, who is Peter's boss at the Pawtucket Brewery. As 'Family Guy' fans are well aware of, the creator of the animated sitcom, Seth MacFarlane, is a massive 'Star Wars' fan. In recent months, those behind the show paid tribute by having a funeral for the character.

Ben Stiller

Fair play to Ben Stiller for going along with this one is all we can say. Make sure to watch to the end.

Liam Neeson

And then there was the class 'Family Guy' episode with Liam Neeson. In it, Peter becomes Neeson's personal servant after boasting he can beat up the 'Taken' actor, who threatens to take him on.
