Although his latest effort, Brain On Fire, received a somewhat cool reception at TIFF this year, Gerard Barrett's career hasn't suffered for it.

If anything, he's come away from it relatively unscathed and onto new things. Deadline reports that FX has agreed to pick up Honey, a TV drama written and directed by Barrett set in the world of corporate espionage. This would mark Barrett's second foray into television, having scored strong reviews and an IFTA nomination with Smalltown, starring comedian Pat Shortt and Vikings star Charlie Kelly.

Plot details on Honey are scarce and no airdate has been set as of yet, but it's understood that Honey is an hour-long drama and that the story is currently in development.
