Sky and French production company StudioCanal have signed a major deal which will see the film studios' newest releases arrive on demand following their theatrical run.

Huge news for Sky Cinema and NOW TV customers today as the broadcaster has announced that it will be bringing many newly-released movies to their service throughout 2021.

Under the new deal, StudioCanal's newest movie titles will be released online for customers following their theatrical run in cinemas. The companies newest titles for 2021 include 'Supernova' starring Stanley Tucci and Colin Firth, 'The Electrical Life of Louis Wain' starring Benedict Cumberbatch, 'Gunpowder Milkshake' with Karen Gillan, and 'The Last Letter From Your Lover' starring Felicity Jones and Shailene Woodley.

As well as these titles, StudioCanal's back catalogue will also become available through Sky Cinema for those with a subscription with Sky or NOW TV. Titles such as 'Logan Lucky', 'The Imitation Game', 'Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy', 'Carol', and the 'Paddington' and 'Johnny English' franchises will now fall under the Sky deal.

The two companies have worked closely together in the past on a couple of family-centred movies, 'The Secret Garden' adaptation and the recent Judi Dench release 'Blithe Spirit'.

One title that we are looking forward to seeing later this year is the Tucci and Firth drama 'Supernova'. Currently scheduled for release in Ireland on March 5, the drama has a 92% Rotten Tomatoes score following its initial UK and US release in 2020. It's tipped for awards season nods (should they go ahead).

Expect to see brand new StudioCanal titles begin to arrive onto your Sky Cinema and NOW TV account from January onwards.
