Funny sorts Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg are teaming up with Breaking Bad writer Sam Catlin for new programme based on the cult graphic novel, 'Preacher' for US cable network, AMC - so says Entertainment Weekly.

Rogen and Goldberg will produce and write the pilot of the draft, while Catlin has been brought on board to be executive producer. Speaking about the show, the pair who just had a box-office smash writing/producing and directing This is the End said, 'This is amazing! We've tried for seven years to work on Preacher and we're so psyched AMC is finally letting us. It is our favourite comic of all time, and we're going to do everything we can to do it right. Humperdoo!'

Preacher was a hugely popular twisted comic from the 1990's written by Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon. It follows Texas preacher Reverend Custer, who has lost his faith after he learns God has left Heaven and abandoned his duties. Along with his vampire ex girlfriend, it is down to Custer to track God down to get answers. It doesn't end there though, as hot on his tail is killing machine gunman, Saint of Killers, who exists purely to kill Custer.

We reckon this could be the next big series to watch out for and with Rogan and Catlin on board we hope it doesn't disappoint. Rogen and Goldberg have promised that original creators, Ennis and Dillon will have a strong creative input.
