The character of Che Diaz was a controversial figure in 'And Just Like That' almost from the first scene they were in.

The non-binary comedian proved divisive when many fans blamed them for the marital split between Miranda and the much-loved Steve, after Miranda and Che had an affair.

However, Che returned in Season 2 where they showed a more vulnerable side to their personality and dealing with the highs and lows of fame and success in Los Angeles - even though their relationship with Miranda had fizzled out by the end of the second season.

Now after months of speculation, it has been confirmed that Che Diaz, played by Sara Ramirez, will not return for the show's third season.

Ramirez has been vocal about her feelings about the character in recent months, suggesting that the inclusion of Che in the cast was "performative" in a recent post that described the film and TV industry as "duplicitous" regarding what is happening in Gaza.

Max, the makers of 'And Just Like That', have not commented on Ramirez's character's absence from S3, but sources told THR that the door was being left open for the character to "pop in" to an episode.

Judging by Ramirez's post, however, that's looking increasingly unlikely.
