Due to his "persistent cough", Ryan Tubridy will not be hosting tonight's 'Late Late Show'.

Tonight's 'Late Late Show' will be coming to you tonight in the hands of a different RTE presenter. Miriam O'Callaghan will be stepping in for Ryan Tubridy, who has fallen ill these past few days.

Ryan Tubridy was replaced on Wednesday this week for his regular RTE Radio One show by Oliver Callen. He hasn't appeared back on the airwaves since.

Speaking of her new role on tonight's show, Miriam said: "I'm delighted to be able to step in tonight and present the 'Late Late Show'. We have to keep the show on the road. Best wishes to Ryan."

This is the very first time that a woman has presented the 'Late Late Show' in the history of the late-night chat show.

Tonight's 'Late Late Show' has quite the line-up in store for us all as we begin to settle in for a new weekend of self-isolation. Singer Hozier will be in the studio to perform a set, which will be an on-air appeal for the ISPCC and Childline.

'Mrs Brown's Boys' stars Brandan O'Carroll and his wife Jennifer Gibney will also be joining Miriam via Skype, as well as comedian Dara O Briain, and rugby international Brian O'Driscoll.
There will also be a special tribute to the men and women of Ireland's National Frontline Services who have been having the nation during this tough time.

Join Miriam O'Callaghan on the 'Late Late Show' tonight on RTE One at 9.35pm.
