George Ward, better known as Cherry Valentine competed in season two of the UK spin-off of 'RuPaul's Drag Race' and went on to feature in the BBC documentary 'Gypsy Queen And Proud'.
Ward's family announced the sad news of his passing sharing that his death came as a "profound shock". Naturally, they are grieving but also said, "We understand how much he is loved and how many lives he has inspired and touched. All we ask is for your patience and your prayers in this time. We love you Georgie".
Online, the news of Ward's death has seen his fellow queens, peers, and fans share their condolences and memories from the queen who was also a qualified mental health nurse.
