RTÉ Sport announced today the full details of its UEFA EURO 2016 coverage across TV, radio, online and mobile.

Kicking off with the opening game of the tournament which sees France take on Romania on Friday 10 June, the coverage includes all three of the Republic of Ireland’s Group games against Sweden on Monday 13 June, Belgium on Saturday 18 June and Italy on Wednesday 22 June.

Darragh Maloney is set to anchor RTÉ2’s live coverage of the tournament with Damien Duff joining the familiar team of panellists that includes John Giles, Eamon Dunphy, Liam Brady, Richie Sadlier, and Didi Hamann. As has already been well documented, the tournament will be the last time John Giles will be part of the RTÉ panel as his contract expires after the tournament.

Ryle Nugent, Group Head of RTÉ Sport said, “2016 is a huge summer for Irish sport with the GAA Championships already underway and the Olympics, Paralympics and European Athletic Championships to come and we’re delighted today to be able to announce full details of all of our UEFA EURO 2016 coverage here in such appropriate surroundings. RTÉ Sport once again offers Irish viewers the most comprehensive coverage available live on TV, radio, online and mobile with the best punditry and analysis around and all the colour and atmosphere on the ground in France".

Ray Houghton, Ronnie Whelan, Brian Kerr and Jim Beglin will be on commentary duty during the tournament alongside George Hamilton, Ger Canning, Stephen Alkin and John Kenny. A new feature for this year's tournament is the option of Irish language commentary for TV viewers.

In addition to the live coverage, there'll also be a full highlights programme each evening presented by Jacqui Hurley and Aidan Power. The programme's panellists will include former Republic of Ireland internationals Kenny Cunningham and Clinton Morrison as well as current Irish Women's internationals Stephanie Roche and Niamh Fahey.

Last but by no means least, Après Match will be along to give their unique take throughout the tournament.

In addition to the coverage on RTÉ2 television, RTÉ Radio 1 will have all of the Republic of Ireland’s group games live with Adrian Eames and Brian Kerr on commentary plus daily newsdesks with all the latest from the Irish camps and the wider tournament on both RTÉ Radio 1 and 2fm.

RTÉ are also launching a dedicated-Euro 2016 website www.rte.ie/euro2016 today to provide the latest updates from the Ireland camp throughout the tournament, along with columns from the RTÉ Soccer analysts. Fans will also be able to access the RTÉ Soccer podcast there which will run throughout Ireland’s involvement in the tournament.

For those that need to watch the matches online, the RTÉ Player will have all the games live as well as live pre-match press conferences and analysis from the studio panellists.
