The long-awaited next entry in the 'Reeling in the Years' series is only a few weeks away.

Sunday nights are about to get a whole lot better with landmark series 'Reeling in the Years' returning to our screens. the sixth edition will begin Sunday, April 11 on RTÉ One, and will cover the years from 2010 to 2019.

And what a decade it was. Expect all of the biggest news stories to be covered, from Katie Taylor to Kodaline, the enigma that is 'Mrs Brown’s Boys', to more topical subject such as the marriage referendum, the visit of Pope Francis, and the big freeze of 2010.

The decade was also the time when The Queen made her visit over the Irish sea to us, Michael D. Higgins was made president (twice), and one poor sod ended up falling flat on his face in a perfectly-timed RTÉ news report.

Producer John O’Regan of 'Reeling in the Years' says of the series' return: "The end of a decade is a natural time to look back. We made the Nineties series in 2000, the Noughties series in 2010, and now we’re adding another 10 years to the collection. We’re pleased to offer viewers this latest selection of music and moments from RTÉ’s archives."

'Reeling in the Years' will air from Sunday, April 11 at 8.30 pm on RTÉ One and RTÉ Player.
