So, Pixie Lott is the latest 'sleb to wing her way to the small screen! Seems the singer will make her TV acting debut in 1960s detective drama Inspector George Gently. It isn't the first foray into acting for Ms Lott. Back in 2010 she had an appearance in Fred: The Movie, a feature film based on the YouTube character created by American teenager Lucas Cruikshank.

Anyway, Pixie will be joing the cast of George Gently to play Megan, an entertainer at the Blue Bird Holiday camp. In other words, she's signed on to play a Butlins style singer, and series producer Matthew Bird is rather delighted."Pixie was very excited about joining the cast and we are delighted that Pixie is to make her TV acting debut in Inspector George Gently - we know she will bring something very special to the role", he said. And it seems she's rather excited about it too.

"I love the fact that Inspector George Gently is a period drama set in the '60s and I can't wait to play the role of Megan," Lott gushed. That's if she doesn't end up popping her clogs of course. Y'see it wouldn't be a detective drama without a bit of a mystery now would it? This particular tale sees Gently and his partner Bacchus (Lee Ingleby) visiting the holiday camp when one of its entertainers is found washed up dead.

In the immortal words of 'Mama Do'... uh-oh, uh-oh.
