It was the talk of the web last night, some aren't sure they will ever get over it. Downton Abbey released a promotional photo on the show's Instagram account yesterday and low and behold, there is a modern day plastic water bottle in the background. How could this be? There were no plastic bottles in the 1920's! It's almost like they are saying the show isn't real.
Ah we do get it though, the suspension of disbelief was broken and all that, have a look at the pic below...
There they are now, Hugh Bonneville and Laura Carmichael looking all poised and Downton Abbey-like, and there in the background on the mantlepiece sits a devil-may-care water bottle.
The image was later removed from Instagram and the ITV press site, but luckily the internet never forgets.
We just feel for the poor fecker who probably lost their job over this.
