I think we can all agree that it's been a pretty surreal week for Irish telly and, between those shocking Downton Abbey scenes and that darn Love/Hate Cat, there's been no end of serious letters of complaint written to the likes of the Irish times.
If there's one thing we've learned it's that the Irish public know what they do and don't want to see on their TV screens so, without further ado, here's what you were watching, tweeting and talking about (and the things you should be looking forward to) during the week in telly...
EVERYBODY WAS TALKING ABOUT
5. Downton's dramatic scenes
Nobody was prepared for the shocking twist at the end of last Sunday night's Downton Abbey. By Tuesday morning it was basically England's answer to Love/Hate Cat.
4. Simon Cowell and Sinead O'Connor
Forget about Sinead v Miley, this week was all about Sinead and Simon as the X Factor boss made the Irish singer-songrwriter a rather tongue in cheek offer that we're guessing she found rather easy to refuse.
3. Breaking Bad
It may be more than fourteen days since Walter White and co left our screens but the power of Breaking Bad endures right the way through to October. Oliver Stone and Britney Spears explained why they didn't like Felina at all, while one of Hollywood's most powerful CEOs revealed he'd offered one hell of a lump sum to keep the show going. And you thought you'd give anything for a few more episodes...
2. Melanie McCabe's X Factor Exit
In the week that saw X Factor's Live Shows returning to our TV screens the country was up in arms over Melanie McCabe's last-minute exit. The Irish people couldn't believe it wasn't fourth time lucky for the Whitehall lass, but by the end of the week we were so over it and focussing on Gary Barlow's big news: In fairness, it's not like we couldn't see that one coming...
1. Love/Hate
Fizzy orange and fancy dress probably should have been the buzzwords making headlines about Love/Hate's return (for a recap of last weekend's Season 4 opener head over yonder) but the whole thing was overshadowed by one seriously topical feline fatality. We hope Episode 2 is 100 per cent cat friendly or else Cleo will have to head back for another talk with Tubbs (see below). Judging by The Late Late Owl's reaction to that initial visit we don't think it would be such a bright idea...
If the Love/Hate cat comes within a whisker of me tonight it's getting its eyes gouged out. I don't give a sh*t what the ISPCA think.

WE STILL CAN'T STOP WATCHING...
When it came to this week's Top TV moment it was a toss up between Love/Hate Cat and that fizzy orange request but then the infamous feline went and made a Late Late Show appearance, stealing the crown in the process. Never has a cat caused so much trouble - we're sure Cleo finds it totally a-mew-sing.
YOU WON'T WANT TO MISS
1. Taxi - RTE One, Monday October 14th @ 9.00pm
"This government", "that government" and "the Germans" will no doubt be the topic of many a conversation in this brand new RTE documentary. Filmed over seven days in Dublin, Cork and Limerick, Taxi follows several drivers as they have a bit of an oul chinwag with their customers in the run up to Budget Day. We're sure to come across some real characters, both behind the wheel and in the passenger seat...
2. The Tunnel - Sky Atlantic, Wednesday October 16th @ 9.00pm
Yes, you've heard a similar story before but sure who doesn't love a good mystery drama? Harry Potter alum Clemence Posey and Game of Thrones heavyweight Stephen Dillane star in this French/UK collaboration which sees police from both sides of the channel joining forces to solve a murder on the border. It's coming from the folk who gave us Broadchurch though, so hopes are still high. (I've seen the first two episodes and can guarantee it's pretty decent - TV Ed)
3. Glee - Sky 1, Friday October 18th @ 8pm
It's finally time to say Farewell to Finn.
