If you weren't being traumatised by Downton Abbey last night (we still can't talk about it) you were most likely tuning in to RTE at half past nine to catch Love/Hate, the show fans are calling the biggest Irish Sunday night telly success since Glenroe.

SPOILER ALERT: If you haven't had the chance to see the Season 4 opener yet we strongly suggest you look away now.

Nidge and the boys returned to our TV screens sans Darren (he was there in spirit though, wha?), and sure didn't they kick things off nicely with an episode jam packed with fodder for the 'Twitter massive'. Here are just five of our favourites:

5. Fran's taste in Fancy Dress
Trick or tiger kidnapping? The lads adopted a varied range of disguises as they held a family hostage in an abandoned apartment block (we guess that was part of the plan for a crossover with TV3's Prosperity that just never came to fruition) but Fran's ghastly get-up took the biscuit. We're guessing we'll see several variations on the theme this Halloween.

4. Tommy's Blue Hoodie
We're guessing the poor yun'fellah was trying to subtly pay tribute to his fallen comrade. Someone call the fashion magazines, we still can't decide who wore it best...

3. Those bedsheets & Nidge's backside
We had him down as a fella with a taste for the finer things in life but it seems as though Nidge doesn't go for designer boxers or fancy bedsheets in the brothel. And there we were expecting to see Trish in her undies first...

2. Fizzy Orange
Tommy's tipple of choice is one of our own favourites. We bet he likes a good obscure brand too. Seriously though, the poor fella just isn't right since he went for 18 holes (in the head) with Nidge. We do hope he'll be feeling a bit better soon, so he can ask us out for a fizzy orange or two. Sure how could you say no to that face?

1. That Cat
Move over Robert Sheehan, this fella puts your attempts to play dead to absolute shame. We hear he's rolling in it already, taking bookings for communions, weddings and confirmations. And sure isn't his death more controversial than Darren's already?

No cats were harmed in the making of this feature.
