Ah Parade's End. Sure isn't it essentially Downton Abbey's younger, cooler, alternative brother? And now BBC's period drama has gone and scooped itself no less than five nominations at the 2013 Broadcasting Press Guild Awards?

Based on the novels by Ford Maddox Ford, the show is leading the pack with nods for cast members Benedict Cumberbatch (never heard of him), Roger Allam (of The Thick of It fame) and soon to be Iron Man 3 star Rebecca Hall.

It's a pretty BBC heavy affair actually, with Downton snubbed in favour of The Hour, Twenty Twelve, Doctor Who and The Great British Bake Off. Catch the full list of nominees below.
