What a time to be alive 'ey? We can now exploit a grieving woman for more viewers on a reality show. Yay for the advancement of society.

Celebrity Big Brother has been heavily criticised by viewers for showing Angie Bowie's reaction to her ex-husband David Bowie's death last night. Angie was married to David for a decade from 1970 to 1980 and the pair have a son together, film director Duncan Jones. Although Angie does not have a relationship with her son, who David Bowie was given full custody of after their divorce. Nor had she seen her ex-husband in years, telling her fellow housemates last week; "He hates me. I go to great lengths to avoid him."

Despite all that however, no doubt his death was always going to have an impact on her and to see that reaction on screen just felt, well, wrong. Celebrity Big Brother were quick to defend themselves however saying that Angie had been told of David's death off-camera but chose to come into the diary room after where she said; "I haven’t seen him in so many years I can’t make a big drama about it, but I feel an era has ended, it’s so very sad."

She was later comforted in the diary room by fellow housemates David Gest and John Partridge. Again, which we saw played out on camera...
