'Operation Transformation' is in its third week now and we're loving it as much as ever. The leaders are great and pretty much every episode has us reaching for the tissues over their journey.
There was a scene on last night's 'Operation Transformation' however that some viewers felt was a bit intrusive. You know the one we mean if you were watching. It was with leader Cathal and his wife Agi. Dietician Aoife visited the couple to chat through the plan with Cathal but Agi was not impressed with what was said about her in the previous week's show. Basically that if Cathal's weight-loss was going to be sustainable then the whole family should be on the plan.
In last night's episode, we saw Agi arrive home to Cathal and Aoife and proceed on into the kitchen saying she didn't want anything to do with the show anymore. Aoife then followed her and Agi said she would only talk to her if the cameras were off. They then went into the back room but the camera hung around and captured their very tense conversation.
Agi informed Aoife that she and her child would eat what they wanted to, when they wanted to.
On one-hand it was totally unfair on Agi, given she thought she was speaking privately, on the other, well, she could have reacted better to the whole situation.
Here's what viewers thought:
#operationtransformation That clearly is interfering in a relationship and using it for entertainment. Very Wrong. She clearly isn't over weight and doesn't have to be on the same diet

I really don't like how Aoife tries to force whole families to eat the same meal plan. I cook 2/3 different things every evening because of my children's taste. Thats just how they are. It's not ideal but it's how it is. #OperationTransformation

I felt I was intruding on one participant's life tonight by watching. Honestly I get they are looking at every aspect of their lives but felt the cameras could have been turned of a little sooner.

Why are they showing a domestic on #Operationtransformation? Should a family not have any privacy??

R.T.E. There was no need. To show family dispute #OperationTransformation

She was totally right she was disrespected by the #OperationTransformation team in her own house
— Mike O'Halloran (@StageandSport) January 23, 2019
What's with the camera being in her face? That's not fair on the lady at all. There was no need for that. #operationtransformation

Seriously overstepping the mark in Cathal's home. Cameras should have been turned off. And piece should not have been aired. Voyeuristic tabloid nonsense

Fair play Agi you stood up to that rubbish from the nutritionist #OperationTransformation She was totally disrespected in her own house by the team all for entertainment value.
— Mike O'Halloran (@StageandSport) January 23, 2019
so Aoife you're saying Agi doesn't have his best interest at heart. If you had any respect for her and her family you would have talked to her without cameras and mic still on. Fair play to Agi you can see how much she supports him.#operationtransformation

Really feeling for poor Cathal. Agi registered him for this so I think she could be a bit more supportive. #operationtransformation

Oooh Agi, come on. #Cathal on the beach eating a wrap by himself was heartbreaking#OperationTransformation

Way too much. I'm surprised at #operationtransformation that they went to that extreme. Stand your ground Agi. She was well entitled to.
