Professor Noel Fitzpatrick was in town today and leapt into action when he found a swan wandering around the streets of Dublin, and was good enough to guide him back to the canal.
The video, which was posted to his Twitter account, shows Professor Fitzpatrick running alongside the swan and - after a while - bringing the swan in his jacket to the canal, where it happily jumped back in the water.
