In case you were wondering just how far Reality TV could take dating shows, this is it. Not content with just watching two strangers sit on an awkward first date together, or indeed to pick out their date in the dark, now we can see total strangers strip off and hop into bed together to see how they got on.
The show, called Undressed, originated in Italy and is now heading to TLC for a UK adaptation. It sees two people getting into bed in their undies, while a big screen TV is in front of them asking them questions.
After thirty minutes, they both have to select 'yes/no' for whether they want to stay in bed together. The idea is that being in your underwear will "accelerate intimacy" and explores "the accepted rules of attraction".
Clare Laycock, head of channels, TLC & Investigation Discovery told The Daily Mail; "I'm incredibly proud to bring Undressed to TLC. It's a brave and beautiful new dating format that explores whether it is possible to fall in love with a complete stranger.
"Behind the provocative headline, at its heart are funny, adorable and sometimes awkward connections. TLC's mission is to give the nation a boost – this show promises to do just that."
Who knows, maybe it will follow in the footsteps of First Dates and we'll get an Irish version one day. Can you even imagine? You'd be the talk of the parish.
