If you're a big fan of Kung Fu Panda Po, or (my personal favourites) Hiccup and Toothless from How To Train Your Dragon, then you might want to get yourself acquainted with Netflix rather soon.

The largest ever deal for original content in Netflix history will see members in the US, Canada, Latin America and Europe getting exclusive access to Dreamworks Animation's latest TV offerings, which will be based on the studio's most beloved franchises and characters. And as if that wasn't enough, there'll be shows based on upcoming feature films and the vast Classic Media library, which the studio acquired back in 2012.

"DreamWorks Animation is a valued partner in our global efforts to provide families the most engaging stories delivered however, whenever and wherever they want," said Netflix Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos. "This deal represents a major expansion of what’s already a phenomenal relationship, allowing us to bring beloved DreamWorks characters to the 40 countries where Netflix operates and setting the stage for us to innovate together as we expand into new markets."

DreamWorks Animation Chief Executive Officer Jeffrey Katzenberg was equally excited about the deal: "This is an unprecedented commitment to original content in the internet television space. Netflix is a visionary company that continues to redefine the way audiences watch television and it is a thrill to add to their growing momentum", he said.

And don't forget, your can catch Neflix and DreamWorks first ever Netflix Original Series for kids when Turbo (which picks up where the film left off) premieres on July 17th. We can't wait to see what comes our way when the first shows land in 2014.
