Ramsay Street in Melbourne is to become a distant memory for two stars of the Australian soap, as they leave the quiet suburban life for the craziness of the Irish capital.
'Neighbours' stars Alan Fletcher and Jackie Woodburne, who play the always-chipper Karl and Susan Kennedy on the show, are landing into Dublin later this month. The pair will be filming scenes for an upcoming episode of the series, as they take in the sights of Dublin's fair city.
The storyline has been kept under wraps for the moment, but will see the couple head over to Ireland for the show's 35th-anniversary celebrations.
Woodburne, who is originally from Carrickgerfus, Co. Antrim said that she is "so delighted to bring cast and crew over to her side of the hemisphere."
"We're very excited about 'Neighbours' coming to film in Ireland for the first time ever. An Irish generation have grown up watching and loving 'Neighbours' and fans here have a very special relationship with it and its characters," according to a spokesperson at RTE.
Be sure to pay attention to the sights of Dublin popping up in a future episode of 'Neighbours' - and look out for the two actors in your local pubs getting their obligatory Guinness during their trip.
Here's a classic Karl and Susan offering, with both of them ribbing each-other - before their world comes crashing down. Ah, soaps.
