Brendan O'Carroll and the cast from 'Mrs Brown's Boys' were celebrating last night as the show triumphed at the TV Choice Awards.
O'Carroll's popular show 'Mrs Brown's Boys' took home the award for Best Comedy. The show was up against some tough competition, with Bad Education, Miranda and Not Going Out all contenders for the award. The awards are voted for by the viewing public, so love it or hate it, clearly O'Carroll is doing something right.
Other winners on the night included the lovable Geordie pair Ant and Dec who won three awards. The duo had their hands full with awards winning Best Reality Show for I'm a Celeb, Best Talent show for Britains' Got Talent and Best entertainment for Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway. Doctor Who also won big on the night, taking away the coveted Best Drama Award beating Downton Abbey and Waterloo Road. That wasn't the only award the award the show won, taking away the Outstanding Contribution Award as well.
The Best Drama Award went to Broadchurch, Best Actress went to Miranda Hart and Best Actor went to David Tennant. Corrie took away the award for Best Soap while Michelle Keegan won the Best Soap Actress Award. Best Soap Actor went to Shane Richie, who plays Alfie in Eastenders.
