I know. The 'C' word. And it’s not even October. I am sorry.

Remember Little Crackers from last year? And the year before? This year's line-up has just been announced - and it includes quite an impressive Irish contingent.

Tommy Tiernan and Dylan Moran are among this year's clutch of comedians bringing you a fifteen minute nugget of (sometimes) festive cheer on SKY 1 at some point in December. Also confirmed are Darren Boyd off Spy (the new series of which is kicking off on SKY 1 on October 19th at 8.00pm); Rebecca Front off The Thick of It, Joanna Lumley (no intro required); Paul O'Grady; Caroline Quentin; Omid Djalili; and Jason Manford. Well we didn't claim the line-up was perfect.

Speaking of their rolls, Joanna Lumely said: "Directing an episode of Little Crackers was utterly wonderful: I had a brilliant team behind me and a hand-picked cast who couldn’t have been better. The story is based on my life as a model in the sixties and it was fascinating and thrilling to see the London scene I knew then being recreated before my eyes. I loved every minute of it: the casting and location finding, choosing the music and then the post production and editing after the shooting was over. I could become addicted to directing".

Rebecca Front added: "It's a real thrill to be allowed to do one of the Little Crackers. I love the series. And it's pretty weird but also lovely trying to recreate a story from your childhood, casting actors to play your family and even yourself. I hope what we're making will be personal, but will also resonate with people watching."

You might recall that Chris O'Dowd's Moone Boy first got the Little Cracker treatment in 2010, it features Sharon Horgan with beauriful hair. You may also notice that the little trouser wetter playing Chris O'Dowd's younger self is in fact new boy 'Trevor' (his mum makes homemade Wagon Wheels, his dad is played by Amy Huberman's brother) from the current series of Moone Boy. I do indeed watch too much TV.
