Michael Sheen and David Tennant will take on the lead roles in the forthcoming adaptation of Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett's Good Omens.

Good Omens was a collaboration between Gaimen and Pratchett, first released in 1990. It tells the story of a world on the brink of an apocalypse and awaiting final judgement. Aziraphale, an angel, and Crowley, a demon, are the representation of heaven and hell on earth. They're not thrilled about the apocalypse having both grown to like their life on the planet.

Sheen will play Aziraphale and Tennant will take on the role of Crowley.

According to Variety, the six part series will be a co-production between Amazon and the BBC. It will be debuted on Amazon Prime Video but will also be broadcast on the BBC so Irish viewers will be able to watch it on television. No word on a release date, but the show will be set in 2018 so expect it to air next year.
