Considering how fast she got to work when she landed on 'Love Island', it's no surprise in the slightest that Maura from Longford's already cracking on with another TV job.
It's been revealed by the Irish Mirror that Maura is set to host a guest presenting slot on ITV's 'This Morning' programme, where she'll dole out relationship advice to viewers. On top of that, Maura will also take part in challenges for the programme in a slot called - wait for it - Maura Than Meets The Eye.
This is some Alan Partridge-type punning going on here. Anyway, in a statement released to media, Maura said she's "getting flutters about joining This Morning. I can’t believe it. It’s beyond my wildest dreams."
"I’ve grown up watching Phillip, Holly, Eamonn, Ruth and the team. Mad to think I’m now part of that iconic family. Can’t wait to crack on," Maura's statement concluded.
Although Maura didn't win 'Love Island', being the first contestant to land a television presenting gig is as good as winning it. Despite only receiving 7.4% of the public vote, Maura and Curtis consistently ranked near the top for social media tracking, with Maura often being the most talked-about contestant on the show.
Undoubtedly, ITV's 'This Morning' is cashing in on that momentum by locking Maura in for a presenting gig so soon after finishing up with 'Love Island'. It's understood that Maura will be on the couch on 'This Morning' this coming Monday, both to discuss the reunion episode and her new presenting gig with the breakfast show.
The reunion episode of 'Love Island' airs on Virgin Media Two this Sunday at 9PM.
