After spending three and a half weeks in the villa, former 'Love Island' contestant Yewande Biala would say she knows the Islanders pretty well – even describing them as family.

However, recent developments on the Island have left her nothing less than shocked.

Now that she's back on home ground, Yewande spoke to us about her life in the villa, who she won’t be keeping in touch with, and what she thinks of Michael now. Here are the three things that have shocked her the most.

Maura fancying Curtis

This is a relationship which came as a surprise to us all, with some viewers even accusing the producers of “fixing” the show in order to push the pair together.

When asked what she thought of Maura fancying Curtis, Yewande said “I couldn’t believe it! I was like, am I missing something? I lived in that villa for three and a half weeks and not once did I see Maura look at him!”

She mentioned that from knowing them both separately, the couple could work in the villa, but not in the outside world, saying “Being in the villa forces you to couple up with people who you wouldn’t usually go for because that’s all you really know.

“That way, you really do get to know people and their personalities. So, I think in there, yes it will work. But on the outside world, I just don’t see it working because they are two different people. I just don’t see the connection.”

The question on everyone’s lips now is, with a new Irish lad going in, will Maura’s head turn? When asked, Yewande said “with Maura, I feel like this is the first time she’s getting attention. Usually she’s always chasing the lads, but this is the first time someone’s picked her over someone else. Now, a Bombshell has gone in and said he wants her, so it could change everything!”

Danny and Jourdan’s Relationship

We all know that no matter what happens in the Villa, the Islanders spend a lot of time together once they get out. Between press events, photoshoots and interviews, they’re always together. However, is there anyone Yewande doesn’t want to see again?

“I’ve hung around with all of them since I’ve been out. The only people I haven’t hung out with properly – and have no intentions of doing so – is Danny and Jourdan. I just don’t see the connection between them.”

When asked if she has spoken to Arabella, she had this say: “I have spoken to Arabella. The first time was actually at 'Aftersun'. We were both coming out of our dressing rooms at the same time. It was super awkward because it was the first time that we had seen each other since leaving the villa.”

“Then we had a conversation. I told her that I think she could’ve gone about it a bit better, but at the end of the day I do understand that she’s a Bombshell and she has come in to get with someone and break up a couple. If it wasn’t me, it would’ve been someone else. It’s just unfortunate that it was me but it is what it is!”

According to Yewande, Arabella was shocked at Danny’s behaviour during Casa Amor. “At that time, she was said “I’m gonna wait for Danny, we had an undeniable connection.” I was just sitting there like mm-hmm.

“It was so funny because two days later Casa Amor happened, and there was a part where Jourdan was like “Oh, if Arabella was still here, would you get to me?” and he said “yeah!” When that happened, she texted me straight away saying “He played us both!” And I was thinking, no he didn’t play me, I sussed this all out.”

Michael’s Treatment of Amber

The situation which perhaps surprised us the most over the course of the last few weeks, was most likely Michael turning from Amber during Casa Amor, only to then repeatedly treat her like dirt.

When asked what she thinks of Michael now, Yewande said “when I first came out of the Villa, I had I said ‘Casa Amor is not going to do anything for Michael. Beyoncé would have to come in and graft to get Michael and it probably still wouldn’t even turn his head.”

“And then when I watched the show, I saw a preview where he said to Joanna ‘I’m happy to get to know you’ and I couldn’t believe it! It’s just shocking how he’s treated her too, because that’s not the Michael that I know.

“I just really want to talk to him and ask him what he’s doing – like can you just explain your thought process? I don’t understand! It’s just really unfortunate because I feel like if they stayed together, they could have won.”
