Last night's 'Love Island' had many surprises for viewers but one of them was for former Islander Michael who discovered that Maura once had her eye on him way back when.
In her interview with Caroline Flack in the final last night, Maura revealed that she initially was going for the firefighter when she arrived in the Villa, but found more of a connection with Tommy out of the two.
Speaking on 'Lorraine' today, Michael said he had no idea Maura was after him, telling host Christine Lampard, "That was news for me! I was a little bit surprised by that, she didn't ever make that clear to me."
Former Islander Lucie, who was chatting alongside Michael added, "See I already knew that, she told me at the beginning which guys she really fancied but I just didn't want to say anything."
Asked whether he would have liked Maura however Michael said, "No, at that stage me and Maura were just chatting and we got on really well but there was nothing there for me."
Of course Michael also talked about Amber's big win last night, telling Christine how happy he was for her.
