It's been almost six months now since the finale of 'Love Island' and while many of the couples on the popular reality show have called it a day, there are a few which are going the distance.
Two of them are Wes Nelson and Megan Barton Hanson, who may have caused quite a bit of controversy on the show when they got together, but they've proved it was worth the drama and are still going strong six months later.
The couple are hitting headlines at the moment for Megan's reaction to how she has been treated by Wes's 'Dancing On Ice' partner Vaneesa Bauer. (Megan claims the professional dancer has made no effort with her, telling The Sun: "I’m not jealous; it is just a lack of respect.") However, we caught up with the couple recently at the Virgin Media Television Spring Launch and they seemed stronger than ever.
Asked why they think their relationship is managing to go the distance when so many of their fellow 'Love Islanders' have broke up, Megan said:
"Don't get me wrong, it hasn't been plain sailing. It's hard, we're both young and there's a lot of pressure, everybody's watching us. But I think we are just both on the same page as regards to priorities.
"We're so fortunate to be given this platform but at the same time work is work and you've got to get the right balance between working and achieving what you want to in your career, but then having time for your family and social things. I think we're just very similar in that respect.
"Absolutely," agreed Wes. "There's loads of things that are going on and there's nothing you can do to prepare you for it. I worked a full-time job before and thought I was pretty organised, but then you get thrown into this."
He added, "There's a lot you've got to balance and juggle at the same time."
