It seems as though just about everyone in the film industry is getting involved in some sort of television project or other, so it's no surprise to hear that John Travolta is up for a bit of TV action too.

The Grease star is set to join forces wtih his old Look Who's Talking pal Kirstie Alley (they were some pair back in the day, eh?) for her upcoming sitcom Kirstie, but don't go getting too excited now lads, because he'll only be doing one episode. So far, anyway.

Kirstie tells the tale of Broadway star Madison Banks, who gets the fright of her life when the son she gave up for adoption reappears. We're not exactly sure why it's called Kirstie: Surely it would make more sense to call it Madison? Oh well, we're sure they have a plan of some sort to keep it relevant.

It's not clear who Travolta will play, but we're half hoping he turns out to be the baby daddy - sure wouldn't it be a nice nod back to the movie franchise? "I'm excited about working with Kirstie again, in addition to such terrific talent on the show." Travolta said in a statement. "It's always a treat to be surrounded by people you respect so much both personally and professionally."

And as for Kirstie? Well, we'll let her Tweet do the talking, shall we?

The show debuts on TV Land in the states this December, and we'll keep you posted on any news of an Irish debut. Sure as long as it doesn't turn out like his reunion with Olivia Newton John, we're sure it'll be fine. *shudder*
