As predicted by the bookies, the Limerick Rose was crowned winner of the Rose of Tralee last night.
Junior Doctor Sinead Flanagan emerged as the favourite yesterday, and true enough, she beat off competition from all corners of Ireland (and further afield) to have the winner's sash draped across her.
Here's what people had to say about it - and the evening's entertainment in general - on Twitter:

I think I just won the #RoseofTralee but I’m very drunk so maybe this is a Supermac’s and I’m just being forcibly removed from the premises.

Rose: I spent two years as a volunteer nurse in Syria. The conditions were terrible. One night the hospital came under rocket fire. We saved as many as we could. It haunts me to this very day
Daithi: So I understand you have a dance that you always do at weddings#RoseOfTralee
